What’s Included in a Workshop?

Each workshop is one to two hours of instruction with a glass artist, all the necessary safety equipment, and best of all, a gorgeous recycled glass vessel to adorn with your favourite northern image. We take a minimum of two people in a workshop, although there are often opportunities to join an existing workshop, so call to see what is available.

You will be guided through the art studio with a demonstration of the polishing and grinding process. Then you will have the opportunity to choose and sandblast a northern design onto your glass item. Participants can make additional glasses at a discounted price, ask one of our staff about the workshop price list or get more information on the pricing and booking page.

For those who want to write a special message or sign their name to their art, we have a hand held engraving tool.

Book your workshop online

Not an artistic bone in your body?

That’s ok because our workshop is more about being able to assemble images that you like. To design your own glass. Most of time our guests surprise themselves and leave with a great sense of pride in their work.

Very artistic, or at least like to pretend?

Make your own stencil. We have a few options for you, ranging from the very simple to the very complicated with a service fee. See our custom glassware page.

Make a custom freehand, one of a kind, vinyl stencil
If you would like to make your own one of a kind stencil, just come into our studio a few days ahead of time and get some scrap vinyl (free). You can draw all over it and then use an precision knife to cut out your design.

Have us make a professional custom design
We can do anything from taking a simply black and white line drawing and turn it into a stencil to etching company logos on glass. Other popular options include text engraving for personalizing a gift, often for weddings, retirements and birthdays. All very classy and unique gift ideas. For more information on professional custom designs, see our custom glassware page.

Come as a Group

Workshops are great for birthdays, student groups, wedding parties, tour groups and corporate team building. Our workshop facility can hold up to eight people at a time, as our workshop is located in a historical building where space is limited. If you have a larger group, please contact us and we will make special arrangements.

Lunch and a Workshop

We often partner with the Dancing Moose Cafe across the street in order to accommodate large groups. We split the group into teams and while one group is doing a workshop with us, the other would go to the Dancing Moose for tea, coffee, or lunch overlooking the bay. It is an excellent way to spend an afternoon!
